INTRODUCTION

Many of PowerPoint's slide layouts include text boxes with placeholder text. This placeholder text gives you an idea of what type of text to add to the slide, such as a title or subtitle. You replace the placeholder text with your own text.

TIP

Making Mistakes

If you make a mistake while typing slide text, press the Delete key to erase characters to the right or press the Backspace key to delete characters to the left of the insertion point.

TIP

Using Outline View

You can also use Outline view to replace placeholder text. See Part 3, "Building Presentations Using Outline View," to learn more.
