Part 3. Building Presentations Using Outline View

While Slide view allows you to focus on the slide's visual appeal, Outline view lets you focus on the structure of your presentation's message. You can use Outline view to concentrate on your presentation's text, such as the main points and subpoints you want to convey. The Outline feature is simply another way in which you can view your presentation in PowerPoint.

In Outline view, you can see your presentation in an outline format. Each slide in your show is numbered in Outline view. Slide text appears in levels, which can be demoted or promoted in the outline. For example, titles are listed prominently as headings in the outline, while subtitles and bulleted text are listed as subheadings. You can use the Outlining toolbar to quickly edit your presentation structure in Outline view.
