This chapter covers the basic of using a Cisco router to terminate IPSec remote-access connections. Although the setup of remote-access connections can involve many different types of remote-access clients, such as IPSec, L2TP, PPTP, software and hardware, client and server, and others, I focus only on using a Cisco router to terminate IPSec remote-access connections. Look to my upcoming book The Complete Cisco VPN Configuration Guide (Cisco Press, 2005), for more information about remote-access VPNs with Cisco products.
This chapter covers the IPSec remote-access connection-setup process for setting up the EasyVPN server on a Cisco router, and gives an example of the EasyVPN server configuration on a router.
