Summary

In this chapter we have delved into the configurations and profiles in J2ME, as well as some of the optional packages that add functionality to them. The J2ME architecture of configurations and profiles provides for growth over time by allowing new profiles and optional packages to add richer functionality, as the capability of devices increases.

In the next chapter, we will look at the implementations of Java available on different PDAs.
