Summary

In this chapter we have prepared a development environment for developing PDA applications in Java. The tool set used in the book and set up in this chapter is entirely free, which is good news if you are a Java developer learning to create applications for PDAs on a budget.

In the subsequent chapters we will make use of this environment to explore the functionality available to the Java developer on Palm devices and the PocketPC.
