Summary

In this chapter we have used basic examples to illustrate the code required to do networking using the CLDC's Generic Connection Framework on the Palm, and PersonalJava networking APIs on the PocketPC. We have made network connections through a direct connection, Infrared, and Bluetooth.

The techniques used in this chapter will be applied and become more interesting in Chapter 8, "Integrating with the Enterprise Using Web Services," where we will see how a PDA using networking functions can collaborate with larger systems to form an enterprise solution.
