MetabaseExplorer Version 1.6

I've already demonstrated how IIS 6 uses an XML-based metabase to store configuration information. The file can be edited by hand using most text editors, but if you want a more structured visual environment, you can use the MetabaseExplorer. This provides an organized, tree-based viewer system for looking at all the properties in the metabase. You can see an example here in Figure B.1.

The IIS Metabase is covered in detail in Chapter 4, "Management and Monitoring," (p. 65)?including the use of MetabaseExplorer as an alternative to using a text editor and editing the raw XML.
