5.6 Summary

Group Policy is an invaluable tool for applying consistent security settings to the users and computers in your organization. In combination with security templates, another key technology for configuring the client, you can centrally configure and manage almost every security setting that is applied to the client computers, servers, and users in an Active Directory domain. In addition, you have almost complete control over a user's experience. However, Group Policy and security templates are very powerful and complex technologies. Poor planning or inappropriate configuration can cause far more damage than expected. Planned, tested, and carefully deployed Group Policy can help secure your network and simplify security for everyone.
