Chapter 5. Logging and Alerting

Logs and alerts are critical aspects of your firewall; they tell you what is going on with various aspects of your firewall. In this chapter, I focus on how logging and alerting work. I also show you what you are likely to see in the Log Viewer and SmartView Tracker/Status Manager as well as suggest some strategies for managing your log files.
