Rosa Meo was born in Torino, Italy, in 1966. She obtained her "Laurea" degree in ingegneria elettronica (electronic engineering) in July 1993 and her Ph.D. in ingegneria informatica e dei sistemi (computer science and systems engineering) in September 1997, both at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Since November 1999 she has been a researcher in the Department of Computer Science, Università degli Studi di Torino, where she works in the database and data mining research fields.

Giuseppe Psaila is researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bergamo, Italy. He received the Degree of Electronic Engineer from Politecnico di Milano in 1993 with a thesis on Semantic Evaluation Techniques for Artificial Languages. He received his Ph.D. from Politecnico di Torino in 1998 with a thesis on the Integration of Data Mining Techniques and Relational Databases. His research interests cover databases, data mining, XML, and artificial languages.
