Stéphane Bressan received his Ph.D. in computer science in 1992 from the Laboratoire D'informatique Fondamentale of the University of Lille. He is a senior fellow in the computer science department of the School of Computing (SoC) of the National University of Singapore. Dr. Bressan's main areas of research are information and knowledge management, Web applications and services, the integration of distributed and heterogeneous information systems, and the design and implementation of database management systems.

Mong Li Lee received her Ph.D. in computer science from the National University of Singapore in 1999. She is an assistant professor in the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. Her research interests include database performance issues, cleaning, integrating, and querying heterogeneous and semi-structured data.

Li Ying Guang received his B.S. from the School of Computing in the National University of Singapore in 2000 and is now an M.S. student at the School of Computing in the National University of Singapore. His research topic is XML query processing and storage.

Zoé Lacroix received her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1996 from the University of Paris XI (France). She has been a researcher at the French Institut National de la Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA), and at the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science (IRCS) at the University of Pennsylvania (USA). Since then she has been working at Gene Logic and at SurroMed, two biotech companies, where her research focused on bioinformatics. In addition, she was involved in the XML working groups XML Query Language and XML Forms at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Recently she joined Arizona State University where she started new projects on electronic business hubs, integration of biological databases, optimization, semantics of Web queries, and Semantic Web.

Ullas Nambiar received his B.S. and engineering degree from M.S University, India in 1997 and is pursuing his Ph.D. in computer science with a focus on data integration. His research interests are data integration, extracting source statistics for Web sources, adaptive query plan execution, and distributed mediation services.
