INTRODUCTION

If you customize your slide background and get it just the way you want it, you can save your work and reuse the same settings again. To do so, save the customized background as a slide design template and then apply the design to other presentations as needed. Customized designs are saved by default to the Template folder.

TIP

Storing the Template in My Documents

You can save your template in any folder, but you will need to use the Browse feature to locate the template and apply it to your slides. It's faster to keep templates stored in the Templates folder.

Assigning the Design

When you create a new template, PowerPoint adds the template to the scrollable list of designs in the Slide Design pane. You can click the design to apply it to your presentation slides.

TIP

My Template Is Not Listed!

If you cannot find your design template listed, click the Browse link at the very bottom of the pane to open the Apply Design Template dialog box. Locate and select the template design and click Apply.

TIP

Removing a Template

To remove a custom template from the list, open the Slide Design pane and click the Browse link to open the Apply Design Template dialog box. Locate and select the template design and click Delete.
