Setting the code coloring preference options

This dialog box allows you to specify preferences for how Dreamweaver applies colors to code.

To set color preferences for a specific tag, edit the tag definition in the Tag Library editor. For more information, see Editing libraries, tags, and attributes.

To specify code coloring preferences:

  1. Select a default background color for Code view and the Code inspector using the Default Background option.
  2. Select a document type in the Code Coloring preferences dialog box and click Edit Coloring Scheme.

The Edit Coloring Scheme dialog box appears.

  3. Select an item and set its text color, background color, and (if desired) style (bold, italic, or underline).

The sample code in the Preview pane changes to match the new colors and styles.

  4. When done, click OK.
